Yoga is a moving meditation resulting in calmness and clarity. It maximizes body tone, encourages weight loss, detoxifies and increases all-round health, flexibility, strength and balance. The result is a dramatic increase in energy, a stronger immune system and a sense of physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Our yoga classes are taught in a high-heat (but not excessively hot) environment at around 25ēC, which is ideal for safely encouraging flexibility and allowing a gentle detoxification process. This class is for those who have adequate knowledge of the standing postures of the ashtanga sequence, as well as anyone who has experience practicing in a Mysore-style class. ashtanga vinyasa yoga where students are not "led" by a teacher in the conventional way. Instead they lead themselves at their own speed and breath through a memorised sequence of postures. The teacher opens the class with a chant and then guides and adjusts students individually, giving one-to-one tuition and hands-on adjustments. New postures are explored and added as a student progresses, others may be modified and adapted in certain circumstances depending on the individual.
This unique approach has powerful benefits on many levels. Primarily it allows students to progress on a truly personal level with few external distractions. The special serenity, quietness and focus of this class enhances a meditative state. The Mysore practice is also one that liberates you from dependence on a teacher and leads you to a deeper more profound understanding of the yoga. It directs you away from the stresses of life, to a place of stillness, calm and introspection. It is in this practice that the yoga really becomes a moving meditation.

Mysore Class Timings
• Early morning classes have a flexible start time between 6.30 and 7.30am – students should have moved in to their closing sequence by 8.30am.
• If your practice is longer than the allocated class time, it is usually not a problem to run over in to the next class. Please discuss this with your teacher.
Who should join this class
Join this class if you:
are familiar with the asthanga standing postures (note this class does not require any particular level of fitness and strength)
have been been encouraged to move to this class from Level 3
are pregnant with an established asthanga vinyasa practice
have built up a personal practice through private tuition (due to a medical condition)
find level 3 too intense and have discussed joining this class with your teacher.
